The cast has been chosen

The cast has been chosen

Following the recent wave of auditions, we have spent the last week calling or emailing people to let them know what part they will be playing or role they have. If you have not heard from our team, please call, as all of the attendees have been given a role in the show.

We will be supplying a copy of the script in PDF format for the cast to print out and mark out their role. A read through is currently being planned and we will be posting the arrangements here, so do keep visiting. Rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings.

Nearly there…

Nearly there…

Over the last week we have held a series of auditions. We were overwhelmed by the fantastic talent, which makes it all the more difficult to make those final choices. Bex and Liz are now working on the cast list, and are likely to be recalling a few people next week, before finalising the cast. They will be letting everyone know as soon as they can!

On a different note, we are busy working on finalising the music and songs and getting to grips with designs for the staging. As always, we need volunteers to help backstage, so do get in touch if you are able to help.

Give it a go!

The acting auditions took the form of random groups. Young with old, young with young. We switched them around to let everyone have a taste of different characters.

For those who are still interested in taking a role, on stage or backstage, there is still time to get in touch.

With prospective dancers on Saturday, we now turn our attention to the first batch of singers. So here we are, working through the talent, listening to the songs and meeting really nice people. Each of the attendees were asked to sing a few lines from ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ to start.

A few more songs were sung as a group, and everyone seemed to have quite a fun time of it.

It’s started!

It’s started!

With auditions starting this weekend, there is plenty of activity in putting on the production this year. Musical directors, stage design, theatre meetings, and a whole host of people volunteering for the roles we need backstage.

Those wanting to tread the boards will be meeting up this weekend. The response has been great, and we hope that as many people as possible will attend the auditions on Saturday and Sunday. Further meetings may be needed to cover those who are interested, but can’t make it.

Those who can attend are likely to have a bit of fun, so do join us.
